Stellar Industries the Company

Stellar Industries, Inc. was established in 1990 as a Garner, Iowa corporation that exclusively designed and manufactured shuttle-loading devices. It was the first such manufacturer located in North America. The hooklift, as it is better known, allows one truck the ability to perform multiple functions through the changing of bodies, but also turns any truck into a dump truck. The concept of the hooklift was originally developed in Europe where space limitations required one truck to perform the jobs of many. Since 1990, Stellar has developed more than 40 different models of the Stellar Shuttle double-pivot, Stellar XChange single-pivot and the Stellar Slider sliding jib hooklifts. Continual design improvements are made to create a more efficient, safe, and cost-effective hooklift. The latest development is the introduction of the Flex series hooklift. The Flex series is designed to have an adjustable capacity rating over a particular cab to axle measurement. Stellar Industries holds numerous US patents on the Stellar Shuttle hooklift, which makes it unique over competing products.

In 1993, Stellar had the opportunity to embark on a major expansion by acquiring a division of a local company whose focus was on the designing and manufacturing of custom service vehicles used by commercial, agricultural and OTR tire dealers. These vehicles were equipped with a specially designed body, a hydraulic-driven air compressor, hydraulic knuckleboom crane and a powered lift gate. Today Stellar offers over 8 different models of tire service cranes ranging in capacities of 1,000 pounds up to 28,000 pounds, a variety of accompanying tire manipulators, and a growing list of service bodies to meet any tire service need.

It was in 1999 when Stellar saw the need in the market for a mechanic service crane that was strong and quick. This is how the Stellar mechanic service crane line was brought to life. With its industry first hexagonal shaped boom design, 28-feet of all hydraulic reach, a radio remote control as a standard feature, and a planetary winch speed at 60 ft/min, the Stellar mechanic service crane instantly became an industry leader. Models range from 2,000 pound capacities up to 14,000 pound capacities. Combine it with a Stellar designed service body with an isolated crane compartment, an American Eagle Compressor, and a complete drawer system set, and there’s not another complete package out there that can compete.

American Eagle Accessories group, a division of Stellar Industries, was created after an acquisition of a New Hampshire compressor company. American Eagle has since developed into a leading manufacturer of truck-mounted compressors, heavy-duty drawer systems that can be mounted in a service truck or used as stand-alone tool chests in the shop, and a hydraulically driven power system.

In March, 2008 Stellar announced the definitive agreement to acquire K-PAC Solid Waste Handling Equipment Division of Krause Corporation.

The sale consisted of the entire product offering under the K-PAC name, which includes Hooklifts, Cable Hoists, Container Handlers and Tarpers.

"Stellar truly is a supplier of high quality truck mounted equipment."
